About Kelsey Swasey

I am a New York-based photographer focused on visual storytelling with work spanning fashion, concerts, nature, street and documentary photography. My work is driven by highlighting overlooked stories and creating photographs that feel intentional and meaningful. 

When I first held a camera, I immediately knew photography was something I wanted to pursue. I began by photographing the environment around me, but I quickly wanted to experience more—to meet new people, explore new places, and create eccentric stories that I could look back on years later and say, “Yes, Kelsey, you did that!” That curiosity continues to shape the way I approach my work today.

Through my photography brand, Swasey Photography, I have developed projects across a variety of subjects and visual styles. Exploring different forms of photography has strengthened my ability to tell stories through images and adapt my perspective to different environments, people, and experiences.

My work has been published in the Canarsie Courier, and I am a contributor to Thjngs Magazine, where my photographs have been featured alongside stories centered on culture, fashion, and art.

Developing my own projects has encouraged me to become more perceptive, experimental, and fearless in my creative process. I am interested in opportunities where I can connect with creatives and publications to bring my visual perspective to editorial storytelling.
